UNCG will host its 7th annual Spartapalooza festival – featuring carnival rides, fair-style foods and plenty of prizes – on Saturday, April 16, from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Jefferson Suites parking lot.

From the Ferris wheel to the caricature artist, all activities are free for UNCG students with a Spartan ID.

“It’s a small-scale version of the North Carolina State Fair,” said Kim Caudle, coordinator for programs in Campus Activities & Programs. “It’s a great carnival experience right on campus, and it’s completely free for students.”

The first 700 students will receive a food voucher for one food item – such as funnel cakes or candy apples – and unlimited, free popcorn will be available all day. Additional food items will be available for purchase.

The event also features classic carnival games, including a water gun race and ring toss competitions, as well as prizes for the winners.

In the event of rain, Spartapalooza will be held the following day, April 17, at the same time and location.
