What’s better than winning the Carolinas Amateur Golf Championship? Winning it twice.

Sophomore men’s golfer Carter Jenkins claimed the 100th annual Carolinas Amateur Championship of the Carolinas Golf Association last weekend.

Jenkins took his second straight Carolinas Amateur title to become the first golfer in over 25 years to win the title in back-to-back years.

It caps a memorable year. In his first season as a Spartan, he was named the Southern Conference Freshman of the Year and made the SoCon Academic Honor Roll. He helped his team earn a berth in the NCAA Tournament – a milestone for the program.
