Dr. Paige Hall Smith, an associate professor of public health education and director of The Center for Women’s Health and Wellness, has conducted research that gives insight into work/life balance stresses faced by employees in jobs in an educational setting and beyond. “Managerial support for work/life balance issues improve health overall,” said Smith. Policies like flexible work scheduling and flexible work locations also helps employees balance their lives with minimal expense to businesses. These types of policies ultimately help improve the work environment, she adds.
