The Department of Kinesiology collaborated with Project Effort on a free sports camp for refugee children and under-served youth from across the Piedmont region, WGHP Fox 8 reported. The camp, held at the Smith Soccer Complex, was run with the help of over 20 high school students who were a part of Project Effort’s Youth Leadership Corps and is funded by donations, which makes it free for all kids.

Project Effort is a collaboration with Guilford County Schools, Glenhaven Community Center, UNCG’s Center for New North Carolinians, Greensboro Parks and Recreation, Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club, Guilford Interfaith Hospitality Network and Avalon Trace Community Center.
