Fulbright scholar Sheena Rose left the sunny, close-knit island of Barbados to pursue a Master of Fine arts in studio art at UNCG. “I love drawing. I love painting. I’m very expressive you know. … to me it just something I feel like I have to do.”

Beyond expanding her portfolio and knowledge of art, Rose learned valuable lessons about herself. “You gotta love yourself and build confidence in yourself.”

Rose graduated from UNCG on May 6. She plans to return home to give back to her community and show others that they too can succeed in the arts.
