The 840 students enrolled in the Lloyd International Honors College will have another exclusive housing option next year. Gray Hall, one of seven residence halls in the newly renovated Quad, will become an Honors Residence for sophomores, juniors and seniors in August 2013.

Gray Hall is the second housing option exclusively for Honors students. North Spencer Honors Residence Hall is home to more than 180 Honors undergraduates. Honors housing adds to the sense of community, contributes to a student retention rate close to 90 percent and gives the Honors College a residential setting for exceptional programming, said Dean Jerry Pubantz.

“We are confident that the new facility, dedicated solely to upperclass students with their particular Honors interests, will expand our ability to meet our overall goals,” he added.

Honors students living in Gray will have a full-time, on-site adviser to counsel them on their academic plans. “The addition of Gray Hall to the residential options for the college’s students will enhance the visibility of the Honors community on campus and provide a wonderful complement to the Honors housing option in North Spencer,” Pubantz said. “Upper level students will be able to choose the Honors residential community that best serves their goals.”

Current Honors students will be able to declare Gray or North Spencer as their first choice housing option during room selection in the spring semester. Information about eligibility requirements for Gray Hall is listed on the Honors College website. For further information students should contact the Honors College office at 205 Foust Building.
