Christopher Tew, who studied music at UNCG and earned a degree in history, was featured in News and Record on the 5oth anniversary of the JFK assassination.

Tew, who was 16 at the time, composed a memorial piece for Kennedy called “Elegy for Strings — November 1963.”

“It was easier to express my emotions in music, rather than put them into words,” Tew told the newspaper. “I could give it a depth of feeling that I didn’t have words to express.”
