UNCG men’s basketball’s record-setting season came to a close on Wednesday night as the Spartans fell to Syracuse 90-77 in what was a hard-fought battle in the Carrier Dome.

The game against the top-seeded Orange marked the Spartans’ second-ever appearance in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT).

UNCG’s 25-10 overall record is the best in the 50-year history of the program. The Spartans won the Southern Conference regular season title and took second in the SoCon Tournament finals.

Wednesday night’s game was the last for seniors Diante Baldwin and R.J. White, who have led the Spartans all season. According to Head Coach Wes Miller, Baldwin and White have transformed the program since arriving on campus as freshmen.
