Dr. Spoma Jovanovic, an associate professor in the Department of Communication Studies, was interviewed by the News & Record regarding shared visions about a future Greensboro. These questions were sparked by TEDxGreensboro, a local off-shoot of TED talks, the acronym which stands for technology, entertainment and design. TEDxGreensboro takes the original format, which started in 1984, of sharing anecdotes for the future and visions of change for a community.

Jovanovic relayed a story about her students becoming inspired to bring benches to bus stops in Greensboro for people to sit during their busy commute.

“Many conversations have been small,” she said. “But these can lead to big results … and even bigger conversations.”
