Deborah Tollefson, the director of financial aid at UNCG, was interviewed by News 14 Carolina and the News & Record regarding the affordability of college and student loans.

“Having such turmoil, year after year particularly, is hard on our first-generation students and our low-income students,” said Tollefson. “It just seems so much in the air. It makes them worry about whether they can come back, should they even start.”

Educators and students joined Sen. Kay Hagan, (D) North Carolina at a round table discussion on college affordability, a conversation driven by the possibility of current interest rates on federal Stafford loans doubling on July 1.
