Whether you call it rockin’ or rawkin’, UNCG will welcome new and returning students with an exciting Welcome Week 2005.

Students begin moving into their dorms on Wednesday, Aug. 10, and move in will continue through Sunday, Aug. 14.

Chancellor Patricia Sullivan will welcome the class of August 2009 during the new student Convocation at 4 p.m. Aug. 14 in Aycock Auditorium.

Classes begin Aug. 15 and will be marked by UNCG’s 20th annual “Fall Kickoff” from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on College Avenue.

Aug. 12
• Glow Zone Dance Party. 8 to 11 p.m. Aug. 12. The Quad

Aug. 13
• Spartan Service Projects. 8 a.m. Aug. 13. Students meet at the Rock.
• Summer Book Read Discussions. 11 a.m. Aug. 13 in various rooms in the Elliott University Center.
• Shopping trip. 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Aug. 13 Students meet at the Rock.
• Rawkin’ Reggae Fest. 3 to 5 p.m. Aug. 13. EUC West Lawn. Featuring reggae music by Sahara.
• Rawkin’ Riot. 7 p.m. Aug. 13 EUC Auditorium. Comedians Michael Blackson, Amos Quick and Darren Saunders.

Aug. 14
• Charlie’s Lawn Party. 5 p.m. Aug. 14. The Quad. Music, carnival games and prizes.
