A UNCG study on student debt and the  likeliness of marriage was quoted by ExtraNews.net in an article on how college loans are dragging down students’ futures. According to the article, the June 2012 study found that “borrowing an additional $10,000 for education decreases the probability of marriage by 11 and 17 percentage points, respectively, for men and women …whose age is below 37.” Extra News reports that U.S. representatives are looking to lessen the impact of student loans by introducing legislation through the U.S. Department of Education in upcoming years.
