UNC Greensboro is teaming up with the Greensboro Swarm for a special night of basketball and Spartan spirit in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 20.

As part of “MLK Day at the Swarm,” all UNCG students, faculty, and staff are eligible for discounted tickets to see the Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate team of the Charlotte Hornets, face off against the Iowa Wolves. Tip-off is at 5 p.m.

The UNCG Chariots a capella group will perform the national anthem and “God Bless America” before the game. UNCG Theatre student Jordan Speas will recite a portion of King’s famous “I Have a Dream” speech at halftime.

Throughout the game, the UNCG pep band, cheerleaders, and dance team will perform. Free UNCG swag will be given out to fans, and there will be an opportunity for fans wearing blue and gold to participate in contests.

Student tickets are half-off at the box office with a valid UNCG student ID. Faculty and staff can purchase discounted tickets at https://groupmatics.events/event/UNCGMLK.
