On January 27, 2017, President Trump signed an Executive Order entitled “Protecting the Nation from Foreign Terrorist Entry into the United States by Foreign Nationals.” A copy of the order will be available at https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/presidential-actions/executive-orders.

Please see the University’s statement below:

We are working closely with UNC General Administration to better understand the impact of this order. The University’s international students, faculty, researchers, and staff are valued and important members of our University community. Our commitment to the values of equality, inclusion, and diversity remains as strong as ever.

The University is also reaching out to individuals who may be directly affected. These individuals and their families have our support, and their welfare is of utmost concern. We do not have specific details on any impacted individuals to share at this time.

We are continuing to monitor the situation, and we will keep our campus community apprised of new information as it becomes available.
