Dr. Dianne H.B. Welsh, founder and director of UNCG’s Entrepreneurship Cross-Disciplinary Program, was interviewed by USA Today regarding entrepreneurship opportunities for students through the Spartan Trader, a store that sells artwork created by students, faculty and staff from across the university.

Welsh said that pairing arts- and business-minded education with experience outside the classroom gives students the practical knowledge they need to make their dreams feasible.

“I just really realized how much the artistic community needs this. They’re great people — fun to be around — but they need help,” she said. “We want to see all artists be successful, not just survive.”
